Bionic Quadruped Robot (“Robot Dog”) Training Workshop

On 14 Aug 2026, a 2-hour hands-on training workshop featuring advanced Bionic Quadruped Robots (commonly known as “Robot Dogs”) was held at HSUHK.

In this session, participants were introduced to the robot’s physical components, its balance principles, and critical safety procedures, along with fundamental remote operation techniques. The training covered varied movement modes, showcasing the robot’s ability to adapt to all-terrain challenges, including hands-on experience with climbing stairs, autonomous obstacle avoidance, and user-following modes. Finally, a live demonstration of 3D LiDAR mapping and integrated AI conversation features showed its potential for complex tasks and future applications.

CIS’s keen on promoting innovation and advanced technologies on campus. By bringing emerging robotics applications into an interactive learning environment, CIS enabled students and colleagues to better understand future developments in AI-driven automation, smart sensing, and real-world robotic deployment.
